Insert transition fittings minimize any stress problems found with metal-to-plastic piping system transitions. The CPVC and brass or stainless steel ends compensate for the expansion and contraction variations between materials. Schedule 40 CPVC has thicker walls than Schedule 10, but not as thick as Schedule 80
